HEWLETT-PACKARD HOSTS
LIFEWORKS PRODUCTIVITY ENHANCEMENT WORKSHOPS
OFFERED BY TimeOut ON-SITE MASSAGE
Massage and Motivational Speaking as Unique Tactic for
Employee Stress-Reduction
MENLO PARK, Calif., July 8, 1999 TimeOut, a leading provider
of on-site massage clinics and wellness events, announced today
that it is offering LifeWorks Productivity Enhancement Workshops
to Bay area businesses. TimeOut addresses both emotional
and physical stress by offering an educational presentation geared
toward peak performance, which can be tailored for each individual
company, combined with professional massage therapy.
Most recently, TimeOut conducted a LifeWorks workshop
for Hewlett-Packard. At this particular workshop, entitled, "Creating
a Vision for Your Future", TimeOut teamed with Kimberly
Wiefling, president of The Wiefling Group. Wiefling conducted an
interactive presentation based upon a peak-performance paradigm,
which focused on positive thinking methodologies including reframing
situations by looking at facts and considering positive alternatives,
defining and overcoming fears, and goal-setting.
During the workshop, employees enjoyed fully-clothed chair massage
in a soothing environment. TimeOut On-Site
Massage creates an overall stress-reducing experience embracing all
five senses, featuring massage, tranquil music, fresh flowers and
fruit, energy snacks, aromatherapy and mint-lemon spring water. Additionally,
at each corporate event a free raffle is held for a complimentary
TimeOut Signature 75 minute, warm-oil massage Swedish and Aromatherapy
massage gift certificate.
TimeOut delivers corporations a distinct competitive edge
by enhancing the performance of its most valuable asset-their employees.
Studies have shown that happy, healthy employees contribute more
to a company. According to Newsweek Magazine, scientists have found
that massage reduces blood pressure, boosts the immune system, dampens
harmful stress hormones and raises levels of mood-elevating brain
chemicals such as seratonin. As a result, on-site massage has
moved from an occasional indulgence to a mandatory element of Silicon
Valley life.
Theresa Blythe of Hewlett-Packard Laboratories said, "TimeOut's
services have had immediate and lasting positive results on our
employees performance. By increasing energy levels and mental clarity,
our employees feel better, perform better, and have greater job
satisfaction."
According to Mindy Lederman, co-founder of TimeOut, "We're
seeing an increase in what we've termed values-based businesses.
These businesses understand that ensuring the health and well being
of their staff directly impacts the company's bottom line. Hewlett-Packard
is an excellent example of this kind of trendsetting organization.
The company has a track record of taking good care of their employees-and
it shows in their overall success."
At an upcoming LifeWorks workshop for First Republic Bank,
TimeOut will partner with Linda L. Prout, MS, who brings 18
years of experience in nutrition therapy with past audiences including
Coopers & Lybrand, Lockheed, and PG&E. Prout's, LifeShift
program presentation details how to effectively increase one's energy
level by implementing a program of eating the right energizing foods
and nutrients, including vitamin and mineral supplements, and daily
exercise. Says Prout, "Incorporating these tools to boost energy
can make a dramatic difference in people's lives."
