Must I be undressed?
Massage sessions are performed with the Client fully unclothed and
completely draped with a sheet and often a blanket for extra reassurance
and warmth. It is best to remove jewelry and undergarments so that
your Therapist can massage your neck, back, hips and arms with greater
ease, but your personal choice of comfort and sense of security
is of the most important. Your Massage Therapist will show you where
to hang your clothes, where to place your jewelry, and how to lie
on the massage table.
I understand the sessions are private but are they confidential?
Absolutely without question, all sessions are private and confidential!
TimeOut has over 20 years of successful business history,
serving our Clients with the utmost respect and integrity.
What parts of my body will be massaged?
A full-body massage session includes thorough bodywork on your scalp,
face, neck, shoulders, back, arms, hands, legs and feet. Please
let your Massage Therapist know if you have a particular area you
prefer not to have worked on. Studies show muscles hold memories.
If one experiences a ticklish sensation, it may be long-held tension
being released from the body. This ticklishness disappears as your
body regains the freedom and enjoyment of being touched in a safe
and therapeutic way, healing the muscle memories through regular
treatments.
Will a lotion be used?
A light lotion or a water-soluble oil, which readily absorbs and
hydrates the skin, will be used. Please inform your Therapist if
you have sensitive skin, allergies to fragrances or if you would
prefer to be worked on with lotion and or oil. Your feedback is
welcomed and valuable. TimeOut's goal is for you to have
the most pleasant massage experience possible. Your special preferences
are important to us, such as having the music volume adjusted, the
selection changed, the lighting dimmed or the room temperature modified.
What will the massage session feel like?
Depending on the techniques used and type of massage given by each
Massage Therapist, you're experiences will be different. The session
may start with your concentration on taking a few deep-breaths,
bringing your energy more fully into the room and then gentle massage
strokes and pressure points will be applied to help calm your nervous
system. As your body becomes more relaxed, the massage pressure
will gradually be increased to loosen up specific areas (i.e. neck
and shoulders), relieving deeper muscular tension.
Can I request specific areas of my body to be worked on?
Absolutely! Your Therapist will accommodate your requests and check
in with you during the session to make sure the massage pressure
and techniques are right for you. Your satisfaction is our utmost
concern. Please guide your Therapist and let her know if you would
like more or less massage pressure in specific areas or if you are
experiencing an area of your body that is too sore, too ticklish
or just too uncomfortable to be massaged. The massage will immediately
be adjusted to your needs. Everyone's comfort level is different
and your comments help her to give you a great massage.
Do you have Customer Satisfaction Policy?
Thanks for asking. As a matter of fact we do. No one likes getting
a bad massage and though our Massage Therapists are a select group
of handpicked professionals, we know that sometimes there are other
factors involved. And even when those factors may be out of TimeOut's
control we still want you to have the best massage session ever!
For that reason TimeOut has created an unconditional Customer
Satisfaction Guarantee (CSG). TimeOut offers you a one-time
use CSG option to receive a free massage if you are ever unhappy
with your massage session for any reason.
May I bring my own massage oil or music for my session?
Your massage time truly is "all about you"! We would be
delighted to use your favorite choices of music during the session.
In fact we will purchase special requests. There are thousands of
personal preferences for scents of essential oils, lotions and products,
and immeasurable musical variations. We welcome the opportunity
to customize a session that resonates perfectly with you.
How long will the massage session last?
At one time the average session lasted 60-minutes. In today's world,
massage has become very mainstream and the health benefits common
knowledge. Many people are now choosing 75 or 90-minutes as their
preferred session length. With growing popularity, 2-Hour massage
sessions and Tandem Massages are being requested in greater numbers.
These sessions often alleviate feelings of extreme fatigue, overall
body discomfort and localized pain due to long hours of muscle overuse.
These conditions are frequently stress-related symptoms causing
migraine headaches, eyestrain, mental and physical fatigue, insomnia,
shoulder, back, legs, feet and hip joint pain.
What is a Tandem Massage?
Astonishingly different, this therapeutic wellness session is performed
by two (2) Massage Therapists working rhythmically together, producing
accelerated detoxification, deep healing, amazing relaxation and
a total mind/body transformation for it's recipient. Four hands
skillfully custom blend long flowing massage strokes, acupressure
and light to firm kneading strokes, for an ultra-luxurious experience.
This treatment is ideal for one who is coming back from a debilitating
injury or illness as well as, a perfect maintenance program for
keeping your body strong, youthful and vibrant.
If I book a 60-minute massage, will it be a full 60-minutes
or 50-minutes like a day spa?
All of TimeOut's sessions are value-based in that you get
what you pay for; a 90-minute massage session is a full 90-minutes
of hands-on massage therapy. For your personal schedule though,
it's best to include an extra 10 minutes for the actual massage
session time. Your hands-on massage time begins 5 minutes after
your scheduled appointment time. This allows for your Massage Therapist
to check-in with you to see how she/he can best serve you that day.
Your Therapist will then step out of the massage room, giving you
a moment to undress and to get on the massage table before starting
the actual hands-on part of the massage session. If you have a time
constraint, please inform your Massage Therapist before the session
begins and your session will be adjusted accordingly to meet your
specific needs.
What is the difference between a 60-minute massage and 75-minute
massage session?
If for example you love chocolate cake, a 60-minute massage
session is like the most delicious, moist piece of chocolate cake
you have ever eaten. A 75-minute session is akin to the 60-minute
session but also has the most rich and creamy, delectable tasting
frosting on that piece of chocolate cake. A 90-minute session is
like having two scoops of your absolute favorite ice cream next
to that luscious chocolate cake. A 2-Hour session is the equivalent
of adding whipped cream and going back for seconds and possibly
thirds! Longer sessions give the Therapists the time needed to concentrate
on specific areas requested, incorporating more stretching and energy
balancing techniques.
What should I do during the massage session?
Take this time totally for yourself. Your Therapist will adjust
the face cradle and a pillow will be placed and adjusted either
under your knees or your ankles for complete comfort. Anytime during
the massage session, your Therapist would be happy to make any readjustments
once your body begins to drop down and reposition. Your Massage
Therapist will either gently move you or tell you what is needed
throughout the session, (such as lifting your arm). Many people
just close their eyes and completely let go, drifting in and out
of a deep state of relaxation. Other Clients like to talk during
their session, so please do whatever is good for you. Feel free
to ask your Massage Therapist questions about what you are experiencing
during the massage session or about the particular techniques you
are receiving. They will be pleased to answer your questions.
How will I feel after the massage session?
Most people feel very relaxed. Some experience freedom from long-term
aches and pains developed from tension, repetitive activity and
athletics. After an initial period of feeling slowed down for 15
to 20 minutes, people then often experience increased energy, heightened
alertness and an overall feeling of well-being and greater productivity
that can last for days. Massage is a passive exercise that tones
the muscles and pumps the lymph system causing a major detoxification
process. Assist your body in cleansing out the toxins, wastes and
pain chemicals, after the massage, by drinking plenty of water.
How often does one get a massage?
The key thought to remember here is "why wait"? Your precious
body is your only vehicle and since you can't be here without it,
why wait to be good to yourself. In memory of Bob Hope who lived
to be 100, he received at least one massage every day! Give it your
best and it will give you it's all. Routine physical maintenance
was never faster or easier.
How much time do you need for me to book a massage?
To guarantee an appointment, TimeOut requests a 3-day minimum
reservation time. However spontaneity is a very good thing, so feel
free to ask any time when you are in need of a great massage.
When do I pay for my massage?
TimeOut is a company that fully appreciates the quality of
work and professionalism of it's seasoned Independent Contractor-Massage
Therapists. In respect of their valuable time and efforts, we ask
that the scheduling of all massage sessions are reserved at the
time of booking with a credit card.
Are gratuities appropriate and if so, how much?
TimeOut's Therapists are thankful and graciously accept the
kind gesture of gratuities offered by their Clients, but never expect
them. A 15-20% gratuity is customary for a job well done
What is TimeOut's Cancellation Policy?
A 24-Hour Notice of Cancellation and Rescheduling is appreciated
so that we may schedule another appointment in your place. If TimeOut
cancels your appointment in less than 24-Hours notice and they
cannot find a Massage Therapist to serve your appointment, you will
receive an additional free massage session and their sincere apologies.
TimeOut understands that often there are many details involved
in making this time for yourself and we will do our very best to
insure that everything goes according to plan. We truly appreciate
your business.
What if I'm running late, should I still come in for my massage?
Yes, most definitely. Although it is always best to arrive about
7 minutes before your appointment time, the Front Desk Representatives
know you have paid in advance, reserving your massage time and will
not book another appointment in your time-slot. It is understood
you may arrive late and still want to receive a massage in the last
portion of the session. If you are running more than 15 minutes
late, we suggest you call the Front Desk to inform your Therapist
of your approximate arrival time. Due to back-to-back reserved massage
appointments that are scheduled, your Massage Therapist can only
work within the time frame that you reserved for your massage session.
Are there any medical conditions that would make massage inadvisable?
Yes. In seeing TimeOut for the first time, please arrive
15 minutes early. Before you begin your session, your Therapist
will have you fill out a "Getting To Know You" form, A.K.A.
a Disclosure Statement and ask you a few general health questions.
It is very important that you inform your practitioner if you have
any health issues such as cold or flu symptoms, injuries, arthritis,
fibromialgia, recent accident, osteoporosis, carpal tunnel syndrome
or tendentious. Massage has been proven to be beneficial for these
conditions and your Therapist will work in the most effective way.
However, if you have a fever, are less than seven weeks pregnant,
or if you are under a doctor's care for an illness or condition,
TimeOut advises that you receive a written recommendation
before having your massage session.
Is it ok to ask for my Therapist's business card for In-Home
Massage?
You bet! TimeOut encourages our Massage Associates to build
their Private Practices by offering their services to those who
express an interest. Ask for his or her brochure too. Massage Therapist
often provide unique services, teach classes or sell wonderful products
in their Private Practices.
Do you have Gift Certificates?
We sure do. TimeOut has beautifully designed Gift Certificates
that are upgradeable to longer sessions at the time of redemption,
are transferable and never expire.
Do you ever massage children or elderly seniors?
They are some of our most beloved Clients. Everyone responds and
benefits from caring touch that soothes the soul, relaxes the body
and brings joy and smiles long after the massage session is over.
Massage is especially great for infants and young growing athletes.
For further research on these topics, visit on-line the
Touch Research Institute, University of Miami's Medical School.
Do you offer a Discount Package for a Girls Spa Day?
TimeOut is known for offering a 10% discount on the advance
purchase of Blocks of 4 or more 60, 75, 90, or 120 minute full-body
massage sessions. The Blocks can be used by individuals or by a
group. The purchase is not contingent on reserving the appointment
dates. The Blocks can be shared or gifted. For outdoor pool parties
and large group activities, Clients have a choice of booking a Massage
